by Nextier SPD

The Adamawa State Police Command on Monday paraded 32 robbery and kidnapping suspects. Among the paraded suspects was Mustapha Mohammed who was linked to the abduction of Zainab Abbas, the wife of an Adamawa State High Court judge who was abducted from her residence in Nyibango, a residential district in the Yola North LGA early in June.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje, who addressed newsmen in the course of parading the suspects, listed the items recovered from them to include 13 AK-47 rifles, five locally made pistols, four pump-action guns and a cash sum of N1,689,000, among other items. Nguroje later led journalists to the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, who presented merit plaques to 11 police officers and four hunters whom he said were behind the success of the arrests. The police operatives recognised were mostly from the Crack Squad of the state command.
