Gunmen Abduct Navy School Student, Father in Ondo

by Joshua Biem

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted one Jethro Onose, a student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School Imeri, in the Ose LGA of Ondo state.

Jethro was abducted alongside his father Maliki Onose along the Ifon-Benin road on Monday.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the police spokesperson in Ondo, confirmed the incident.

Odunlami-Omisanya said the command is working towards securing the release of the abducted victims.

“We are working with the navy to ensure the victims are rescued and perpetrators arrested,” she said.

The father was conveying his son who is said to be in SSS 1 to school on Monday morning after the holidays when they were abducted.

The abduction comes two days after Alaba Abey, the returning officer, for the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state, was killed.
