Patrick O. Okigbo III, Founding Partner at Nextier, has 28 years of experience providing policy, strategic, and financial advisory services. Earlier in his career, he was a Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria, Chief Financial Officer at Transcorp Plc., Vice President at Citigroup in New York and Washington DC, and a Consultant with Accenture.

Patrick has a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the University of Nigeria, a Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University (Atlanta), and an Executive Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Public Policy. He was a Senior Fellow of the Mossavar-Rahmani Centre for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Patrick sits on several boards, including technology and real estate development firms. He is a Global Adviser to Energy for Growth Hub, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, and a member of several committees of the federal and state governments in Nigeria. He was recently appointed a Member of Nigeria’s Presidential Economic Coordination Council.

Emeka Okpukpara is a Partner at Nextier Power, The Nextier Capital, where he leads a team focused on solving the power challenges in Africa’s power sector.

Emeka is an expert development consultant with over sixteen years of experience in risk management, finance and international development. In addition, he oversees the USAID-funded Technical Support Programme, the Nigeria Power Sector Programme, the FCDO Advisory Facility, and UKNIAF.

Prior to this position, Emeka worked as a Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Power at the Federal Ministry of Power in Nigeria. He also served on the critical national assets committee as a liaison to the Minister’s team and with risk assessment for various units within the ministry. Before his role at the Ministry of Power, he spent almost a decade working for a risk management firm in different roles focusing on client retention.

Emeka has also worked on several Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for clients in various sectors.

Dr Ndubuisi N. Nwokolo is a Partner at Nextier & the Chief Executive of Nextier SPD (Nigeria), a business unit under Nextier. Nextier is a multi-sectoral, multi-competency International development consulting firm with Offices in Nigeria, Liberia, the USA, and the UK. Dr. Ndubuisi is an Honorary Fellow at the School of Government, University of Birmingham, UK, since 2017. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Nathanson Centre on Transnational Human Rights, Crime, and Security at York University, Canada.

He holds a Ph. D. from the University of Birmingham, UK, in the Political Economy of Natural Resource Conflicts and an advanced MA in conflict and sustainable peace studies from Katholieke University, Leuven, Belgium. He also has a Master’s Degree in Political Economy and Development Studies from the University of Jos and a B.Sc in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Ndu is recognized as a Peacebuilding, Conflict, Security, governance, and International Development Specialist with significant experience and knowledge of Nigeria’s and Africa’s conflict, stabilization, security, democratic and governance interventions.
