News Reports One Killed as Bandits Invade Ago Are in Oyo by Joshua Biem February 26, 2024 Published by Joshua Biem February 26, 2024 4 ONE person has been killed at Ago Are in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State when some bandits reportedly invaded the agrarian community on Saturday night. An impeccable source told Vanguard that the hoodlums invaded the community and before everything could be brought under control, the bandits who were armed with dangerous weapons had escaped into the forest. While confirming the incident, the Chairman of Atisbo Local Government, Mr Adeagbo Fasasi Ademola said he got a call immediately the incident happened. Ademola said, “It is true that some bandits invaded Ago Are in Oke Ogun last night. I got a call as the Chairman of the local government that the hoodlums had attacked and killed a man.” “Immediately, I got the call, I rushed to the scene with some security agents. On getting there, a man has been killed and the bandits have escaped. It is very shocking that there could be a security breach here. We are still investigating the incident.” “Insecurity is not peculiar to Ago Are alone, it happens all over the country. I appeal to our people that anytime they see strange faces in their midst, they should raise alarm and call the attention of the security agents.” He said there has been a boundary dispute in the community. “At Irawo, about 180 kilometers, we share boundary with Benin Republic.” On measures put in place to prevent reoccurrence, he noted that both the conventional and local security agents had been mobilized. He also added that some weeks ago, Governor Seyi Makinde convened a meeting with chairmen of all local government areas and security agents on how to strengthen security in the state.
