News Reports Two Men Bag 10-Year Jail Term for Illegal Possession of Firearm by Olivia Aniunoh August 5, 2024 Published by Olivia Aniunoh August 5, 2024 6 A High Court of Justice, Kwale in Delta State, presided over by Justice O. F Enenmo has convicted and sentenced two men to jail for 10 years for illegally possessing a cut-to-size single barrel gun. The defendants are Mr Joshua Anamali 25, and Mr Nelson Adoh 30 years old and were sentenced to the Custodial Centre, Kwale,The two culprits were arrested by police men who were on their normal routine stop-and-search on January 27, 2021 at Ndemili in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State where the exhibit was recovered from them.The presiding judge, who carefully examined the case proffered against the defendants, found them guilty as charged and consequently convicted and sentenced them for the offence of illegal possession of firearms. The Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs Catherine Oboreruomo, said two witnesses testified in the case against the defendants who defended themselves.Mrs Oboreruomo, in a chat with journalists after the judgement, advised young people to shun crime.She affirmed that the result of crime was nothing, but condemnation and total destruction.
